Rape victim beats up LeT man during identification parade

Doda, Jammu & Kashmir: An LeT terrorist invited the wrath of a woman, who thrashed him during an identification parade here. The woman recognised him as one of the four men who had raped her when she was pregnant, police said.
In what is believed to be the first incident of a rape victim venting her anger on the accused, that too in a police station, the woman became agitated on seeing Imtiyaz Ahmed and beat him with her slippers before spitting on him at the Bhaderwah police station.
According to the police, the incident took place last weekend when the woman was called to the police station to identify the accused.
The police had to separate the two and send the terrorist back to the lock-up. Ahmed was arrested on January 18. The woman and her husband had registered a case of gang rape against him and three other terrorists -- LeT 'area commander' Ashiq Hussain, Mohammad Ashraf, and Mudassar Hussain.
On her statement, police registered a case under the Ranbir Penal Code and the Arms Act. The woman also recorded her statement before a judicial magistrate in Bhaderwah alleging she was raped by four terrorists last year when she was five months pregnant.
The terrorists had come to her house for shelter and food. Later, they raped her repeatedly after taking her to their hideout in a forest.
The woman claimed that she was released after more than a month. She delivered a baby a month ago.
