‘Develop rural tourism in the State’

Dimapur : The inauguration and dedication of monolith at TL Angami Park, New Chumukedima village in Dimapur was held today, with DC of Dimapur, Maongwati Aier as the chief guest and president of NCRC, Nagaland, Dr. Rev. N Paphino as guest of honour.

Following the unveiling of monolith, the DC citing the example of the owner of the park T.L Angami, encouraged the people gathered to develop tourism in the State through such innovative skills. He maintained that such places can be used as holiday resorts, for youth camps and seminars. Referring to various schemes of the Government of India to develop rural tourism, Aier said it was through rural tourism that such places can be developed further and added that rural tourism can beautify this park. Stating about Chathe River, adjacent to the park, the DC said things like fishery can be real boon in Nagaland if it was maintained in proper order. He asserted that fishery can solve the problem of import of fish from other states and also save the revenue of the state.

While briefly highlighting about the park, T.L Angami, said the park was formally inaugurated for public use in the year 2001. He informed that the monolith is erected in ‘faith of God and service to people.’

Describing about the park, he said the park has an area of 200 acres of land and a huge amount was spent in the construction of the park. He continued that the park can be used for party, picnic, weddings etc. He also planned to open a bible college within the land of the park.

The charge of the park is Rs. 10 per head and Rs. 20 per vehicle.
