'Task force to look into job openings'

Shillong: Meghalaya chief minister Mukul Sangma on Monday said a task force has been notified which will identify spaces for job-seekers and help them with available information as well as coaching.

"Representatives from the Indian Air Force and Army would be roped in as members in the task force. It will basically identify spaces for the job-seekers, make available the requisite information and provide support in the form of coaching and other amenities," Sangma said while addressing the dispatch ceremony of 70 candidates of the state selected to join the Army in soldier category.

Sangma said the government is raising the fourth IRBN battalion where there are 800 posts.

"For these vacancies, there were around 25,000 youths who took part in the recruitment rally. That reflects the quantum of unemployment in the state. We need to explore all available employment opportunity and moot motivational programmes for the youth," the chief minister said.
