Ambassadors from European countries visit Meghalaya

Shillong, May 27 : Ambassadors from European countries of Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Slovakia visited Shillong and have met Chief Minister Mukul Sangma and other senior government officials to explore possibilities of investment in the state.

The visiting diplomats discussed about the areas where their countries can be associated for activities in infrastructure and social sector development yesterday.

Ambassador of Slovakia Marian Tomasik said civil aviation, agriculture, hydro power, education, renewable energy sectors besides cultural arenas would be the focus areas of the cooperation.

He also pointed out that the immense water resources in the region could be used to harness hydro power.
