Governor’s post for Kyndiah

Kyndiah: new role
Shillong, June 3 : Former Union tribal affairs minister P.R. Kyndiah, who opted out of the recent Lok Sabha elections, will be rewarded with the post of governor.
A state Congress source today said as a reward for opting out of the fray from the Shillong Lok Sabha seat and giving a chance to newcomer Vincent Pala, the former MP will be appointed a governor.
The source added that he was likely to be posted either in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh or Goa.
Soon after he decided not to contest the Lok Sabha elections, Kyndiah said he would remain in active politics.
Kyndiah took his decision primarily because of his advanced years. Moreover, he wanted to give the younger generation a chance.

From 1993 to 1998, he had served as the governor of Mizoram.
Kyndiah started his political career in the seventies.
He was cabinet minister of Meghalaya four times from 1975 to 1988 and also served as the Speaker of the Meghalaya Assembly from 1989 to 1993.
