Chief Minister Donkupar Roy’s government in Meghalaya has lost majority support, pushing to another bout of political instability in the state.

According to the reports, Limison Sangma and Ismail Marak, both from Garo Hills decided to leave Congress-led Meghalaya United Alliance, taking its strength to 29.
Though, the Chief Minister Donkupar Roy told that his government did not face any threat to survival as it still had the support of a majority of legislators.
In the assembly, the MPA now has the support of 30 legislators: NCP (15), United Democratic Party (10) and five legislators from smaller parties including one of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
