Broder Security Force (BSF) apprehends militant, two Bangladeshis

Shillong, Jan 7 : Broder Security Force (BSF) jawans apprehended a KLNLF militant and two Bangladeshi nationals from different areas today.

According to BSF sources, the jawans were involved in counter-insurgency operation at Umrangsoo in N C Hills district of Assam and apprehended one KLNLF insurgent with Rs 1.95,000 in cash.

The water wing of the BSF captured a Bangladeshi cattle smuggler along with six cattle in Dhubri area close to Bangladesh in Assam.

The border guards seized more than 100 cattle from Dhubri which were being smuggled to the neighbouring country during the last 24 hours.

In another incident, the patrolling jawans arrested one Bangladeshi infiltrator in the border area of Rynkua in East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya.

The arrest was made when he crossed over to India
in a surreptitious manner. The motive behind the incident was yet to be ascertained, sources said.
