PMGSY to get pace after monsoon in Meghalaya says Sangma

Shillong,   Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma today said efforts were being made to accelerate the pace of progress of schemes under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in the state.
"We have been quite slow and a number of factors were attributed to the slow progress of the project such as terrain and prolonged monsoon," Sangma said.
He said works would begin soon after the monsoon and a special review meeting was held recently to give the scheme a push.
"Till date, preparation of DPRs have been completed only for about 800 km, out of which, tender has been floated only for 200 km plus," he said.
Executive engineers of the State PWD had been tasked with the responsibility of preparing DPRs for the remaining projects, he said.
