NBW issued against CMJ University ‘chancellor’

A non-bailable warrant was issued on Tuesday against 'chancellor' of CMJ University in Meghalaya. Chandra Mohan Jha has been absconding for the past two weeks. Following the issuance of the warrant by the chief judicial magistrate here, the Meghalaya Police have put an all-India alert for Jha.

Confirming this, B R Rana, IGP (CID), said the chief judicial magistrate also issued similar warrants against two others — M K Kaushal alias Manjit Kaur (director) and Juban Kharpuri (HR director and examination controller) of the university. Two other officials, registrar M K Deb and deputy registrar Premlal Rai, have been already taken into custody.

CMJ University has been in the news after Governor R S Mooshahary, in his capacity as Visitor of the university, termed its degrees as "illegal"and filed an FIR.
