Three Bangladeshis arrested in Meghalaya

Three Bangladeshi nationals who crossed the international border in an unfenced sector in Meghalaya's East Jaintia Hills district were arrested, BSF sources said.

The three Bakiruddin, Abdul Khalik, and Md Jaid from Sylhet in Bangladesh were arrested when they crossed over into an area in the jurisdiction of the Kanaighat Police station yesterday, the sources said.

A tout, Sukur Ali, who was accompanying them escaped back into Bangladesh territory, they said.

The three were intending to go to the coal quaries in Khliehriat area, they said.

They were handed over to the police.
