The demand was made at a public meeting convened by the Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) in the city as a mark to protest against the policy adopted by the government's department in the recruitment for the assistant lower primary schools teachers in the state.
FKJGP president Joe Marwein said, "The government should also scrap the results of those candidates who were appointed on the recommendation made by these legislators named by the CBI".
Khasi Students Union (KSU) president Daniel Khyriem said it is time that we demand the state government to introduce transparency policy in the recruitment process by the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC), District Selection Committees (DSCs) and at the department level of the state".
Noting that Meghalaya suffers from increased unemployment problem, the students leader said the corrupt act was uncalled for and unfair to the candidates who had worked day and night and who were let down by the political interferences.
Speakers at the meeting further castigated the Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma for his wrong approach in handling the entire situation which has affected the unemployed youths of the state.
Stating that the Chief Minister gave importance in finding out what he termed the leakage of the CBI report, Meghalaya Right to Information Movement (MRTIM) activist Angela Rangad said, "The CM is a fool to ask for the source of the leakage of the report instead of him taking actions against those involved in the education scam".
