Dr. T.Ao Memorial Football Tournament in Meghalaya ~ About Meghalaya

The Minister of DoNER and Chairman NEC, Pawan Singh Ghatowar, has announced that the 4^th T.Ao Football Tournament will be held in Meghalaya which is tentatively from 15^th to 23^rd November, 2012 in Shillong.
In order to promote the healthy spirit of competition and camaraderie amongst the youths and players of the eight North East States, the North Eastern Council had constituted the NEC Dr. T. Ao Football Tournament to be held in the eight N.E States annually in the eight states. The 1^st ,2^nd and 3^rd tournaments were held at Nagaland, Manipur and Sikkim respectively. Winners of the Cup for the 3 tournaments were Manipur for the 1^st and 2^nd tournament and Mizoram for the 3^rd tournament.

Tournaments held in the North East conducted by all the Director of Sports are being part funded by the NEC. Such tournament includes Chess competition, Archery, Arm Wrestling, Boxing, Cricket for physical challenge, Badminton, Volley Ball etc.
