Police sources said here the body of woman, who hails from Batabari in the same district, was recovered near the gate of the police battalion headquarters in Tura yesterday.
The accused constable, a married man, was having affairs with the woman, who came to know about the marital status of the policeman, sources said.
Sources said after having argument over phone about the marital status of the constable, the woman approached him to sort out the matter.
The evidence found by the police indicated that the accused took the girl in the jungle near the battalions gate and murdered her, sources added.
