"The BSF of Assam and Meghalaya Frontier is keeping extra vigil on all activities on the international border to check illegal infiltration and trans-border crimes," a senior official at the frontier headquarters here said.
"BSF troops of Border Out Post Lakhimari apprehended two Indian citizens identified as Anand Mandal, 27, and Roni Roy, 16, near a border post in Dhubri district of Assam while they were trying to crossover from India to Bangladesh. Both are residents of Alipurdwar village in Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal," the BSF official said.
"The personnel seized some Bhutanese currency and Indian currency worth Rs 210, two buffalos, two calves, one mobile phone and a vehicle from the duo," he added.
