According to reports from the Assam and Meghalaya Headquarters of the BSF here, jawans guarding a border outpost at Baghmara in West Garo Hills nabbed an Indian and a Bangladeshi national for allegedly trying to cross the international border. They have been identified as Basar Hassan (27) of Nagare village in Cachar and Rana Sheikh of Tari Bazar village in Bangladesh's Netrokona district. "The jawans found Indian currency worth Rs 10, 133, two mobile phones and a wrist watch from their possession. The apprehended persons, along with the seized items, have been handed over to the department concerned for legal action," a BSF release said. On the other hand, personnel of the force deployed in Dhubri and Meghalaya have seized country boats and other contraband worth Rs 78, 400 meant to be smuggled to Bangladesh.
