Meghalaya budget session begins today

SHILLONG: The budget session of the Meghalaya legislative assembly will get underway from Thursday at the temporary venue at Arts and Cultural Auditorium at Rilbong here." Governor Ranjit Shekhar Mooshahary will address the house on the first day of the session," an assembly official said.The house is likely to pass a vote-on-accounts pending presentation and passing of a full budget.

Meanwhile, the district magistrate of East Khasi Hills district has promulgated an order under Section 144 CrPC prohibiting processions, rally, demonstrations, shouting of slogans, carrying of arms and lethal weapons and assembly of five or more persons within 200 metres radius of the temporary location of the state assembly.
