Development will usher in peace: Purno

GUWAHATI: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) co-founder and former Meghalaya chief minister P A Sangma said on Wednesday the party's prime agenda for the coming assembly elections in the state would be focussing on development. Sangma said, unlike the ruling congress, his party believed that development would bring peace in the region.

"We want to work for the development of the state and it would solve most of the problems automatically. Peace would follow if development takes place in the state," Sangma said, adding that he was hopeful of get-ting at least 10 to 15 seats in Assam.
