Villages such as Lyngkhat, Amlympiang, and Dawki looked like a mini South Africa with people hoisting flags of their favorite team on their compounds and roof tops.
There were some houses that even hoisted flags of various nations in the same roof top thereby giving an indication of each member’s choice.
P.L Nongbri, a 65 year old resident of Malki stated “Football is my religion and Argentina is my favorite to lift the 2010 FIFA World Cup. If Argentina wins, soccer lovers will be the happiest people.”
