In all, seven hardcore under trial prisoners, including serial killers and rapists, escaped yesterday morning after overpowering prison guards.
Informed sources said he used to preach messages from the Bible to his inmates and even lead the church service every Sunday which helped him garner many friends among the inmates.
He often advised his inmates not to involve in bad habits and commit criminal activities.
However, this was only a trick of Mr Dhar to show his innocence and mislead the police and staff.
His main purpose was to escape from the jail, the sources said.
In fact, Mr Dhar was a hardcore criminal, a prime accused in a twin murder case and was arrested in September last year. There are five cases registered against him since 2004, including extortion, rape, kidnapping and possessing illegal arms, the sources added.
