New Delhi, Mar 18 : Meghalaya appears to be heading for a spell of President's rule as the Union Cabinet has recommended it to the President, which met on Wednesday.Union Home Minister P Chidambaram said, ‘The Cabinet agreed with the report sent by Governor R.S. Mooshahary and recommend imposition of President's rule.'
It is worth mentioning here that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh also participated in the first meeting held after his bypass surgery. The meeting was conducted at PM's residence.
Commenting on the hottest topic of the day, IPL, Chidambaram said, ‘We have already forwarded the third revised schedule of BCCI to the respective states and their reply is awaited.'
